Hyaluronidase

Hyaluronidase is an injectable enzyme used to safely dissolve unwanted or problematic dermal fillers. It works by breaking down hyaluronic acid into smaller molecules that the body naturally absorbs. This treatment is commonly performed to correct overfilled areas, asymmetry, misplaced filler, or to manage complications such as vascular occlusion when immediate treatment is required.

Duration: The procedure typically takes 15–30 minutes.

Downtime: Minimal to none. Mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site is common and usually resolves within a few days. Most patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately.

Pre- and Post-Care

Before the Procedure:

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin) and supplements like fish oil for 7–10 days prior to treatment to minimize bruising risks.

  • Refrain from alcohol consumption 24 hours before your session.

  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.

After the Procedure:

  • Avoid applying makeup for the first 12 hours.

  • Refrain from intense physical activity, saunas, and extreme temperatures for 1–2 weeks.

  • Do not rub or massage the treated area for at least 2 weeks unless specifically instructed by your doctor.

Suitability:
Hyaluronidase treatment is suitable for individuals who wish to reduce or completely dissolve unwanted hyaluronic acid dermal filler. It is commonly used to correct overfilled areas, asymmetry, filler migration, or to prepare an area for new filler treatment.

Not Recommended For:

  • Individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to hyaluronidase or any of its ingredients.

  • Individuals with an active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area.

  • Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless treatment is considered medically necessary and advised by a healthcare professional.

  • Patients seeking removal of fillers that are not made from hyaluronic acid, as hyaluronidase is not effective on permanent or non-hyaluronic acid fillers.

Hyaluronidase provides a fast, safe, and effective solution for correcting hyaluronic filler treatments, helping restore the natural appearance of the area.
